Embodying Love & Unity
This Valentine’s Day 💖 - Let’s Take Action (No Hallmark Cards Required)
I used to think of Valentine’s Day as just another Hallmark holiday—flowers, chocolates, overpriced pre-fixe dinners, and those cheesy ads from Jared’s that we’ve all seen too many times. But the older I get, the more I’ve come to view it as something more than just a one-day thing—it’s a reminder to lead and live every day with love.
We’re living in a time where our differences seem to be taking center stage. But love? Love may not be in the headlines, but is the invisible glue that unites us all—no matter our backgrounds, beliefs, or opinions. It doesn’t care about gender, race, religion, or politics—it transcends all of that. It’s the universal language we all speak if we choose to. And when we do, it has the power to heal, connect, and build a better world.
So, this Valentine’s Day, in addition to indulging in gifts and sweet treats, I invite you to celebrate in a bigger way—by embodying the love and unity we want to see in the world. (Okay, I know that sounds kind of hokey, but stick with me here.)
It's about appreciating the love we share with:
Ourselves: This one’s paramount—because we can’t pour from an empty cup! Loving ourselves first is the secret ingredient to truly loving others.
Friends: I guess Galentine’s Day gets the spotlight on this one but friends are our chosen family and see us through life’s ups and downs.
Family: Sure, they drive us crazy sometimes, but at the end of the day, they’re our people—and we love them just the same.
Community: Our neighbors might not look or think the same, but together, we make up the beautiful and vibrant fabric of our community.
Those Who Challenge Us: Yes, even them. Especially them. Love can turn even the hardest moments into opportunities for growth and understanding.
What does this look like? It’s simple:
Greet people with eye contact and a smile.
Be present. When you ask, “How are you?” linger and actually listen.
Be curious and authentic. Notice how good it feels to be genuinely connected with others.
And maybe most importantly, witness the ripple effect your actions have. Kindness is contagious!
As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. so beautifully said, “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.”
Let’s Take the Next Step Together
On Sunday, March 2nd, we’ll be hosting a Vision Board Workshop to create a powerful visual of the dreams and goals we want to manifest. It’s the perfect opportunity to commit to nurturing the love you have for yourself, your future, and the world around you. Think about it: living your dreams with love doesn’t just benefit you—it touches everyone around you. When you're aligned with your happiness and purpose, it creates a ripple effect that inspires others to do the same. Your positivity becomes a beacon of possibility! The connections you make along the way can lead to opportunities for growth, collaboration, and sharing ideas. What begins as a personal journey transforms into a shared one. And yes, you guessed it—it’s fueled by love.
With so much love and gratitude for you,
Carolyn
